The day will start with the Hit the Trails Running 5K through historic Fredericksburg at 7:30 am.
There are different categories of the run so feel free to walk with a group of friends, or try to beat your best time. You are welcome to enter the race as an individual or on a team. All participants will be chip timed and race times will be listed for each individual. Goodie bags, T-Shirts, and a free breakfast will be available after the race for all participants.
Awards will be presented at 9:00 am to the top female and male in each age division as well as for the top fundraisers (individual & group). The youth age division is for any child under the age of 18. Adult age divisions are: 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 & 70+.
For our littler legs, we have the Kids Dash at 8:45 am. This short, non-timed dash is ¼ mile long and is open to any child who is 3-12 years old. All children entered in the Kids Dash will receive a medal and t-shirt! Sign up prior to September 1, 2012 and receive a discount off your registration and guarantee you receive your Hit the Trails Running shirt. Entries received after September 1 will be accepted at the new rate, but we cannot guarantee a shirt (we will try!).
Please note you can sleep-in for camp! Don’t want to get up early, or unavailable for the race? You can still be involved! For your donation of $25 we will send you your shirt and lots of our thanks!
Then at 9:00 am, the rest of the events kick off with live music, artisan vendors, live and silent auctions, and tons of games and activities for the kids. The annual Chili Cook-Off begins at 10:00 am and tasting will go on all afternoon. Food trucks from around the state will serve up a variety of options for lunch. Domino’s and cards will be played all day in the music pavilion so get your game face on! Kids will have plenty to keep busy with and special photo opportunities will be set up all over Marktplatz.
