About

#CoronaVirusSucks so we’re making the best of it!  The 7th annual Got Your Back 5k is a celebration of the life of David Gish, who lost the battle against cancer in Fall 2014. This race benefits Jessica Spring.  Jessica is a 2004 Texas State Softball alumna who was diagnosed with cancer in Fall 2019.  The Got Your Back 5k has committed to assist Jessica as she takes time off from coaching and teaching at Edna High School to fight her battle.  The need to celebrate David and to support those who are battling against cancer has not changed!

We got your back, WAY back, about six feet!  We are VIRTUALLY going to do this together!

Sign up for this 5K, maybe make a little extra donation when you register, run or walk your distance, log in and post your time by April 19, 11:59 PM.

After the event closes, we’ll order and ship your finisher medal (and shirt, if you order one) to commemorate your accomplishment in this world where we’d really like to get back to how things were before – when we could pat each other on the back!
